South Korean auto dealer Deutsch Motors reported a 25.4 percent rise in operating profit for the first nine months of 2026, buoyed by growing sales of Chinese electric vehicles from BYD and improved performance across its subsidiaries, the company said Monday.
Consolidated operating profit climbed to 35.1 billion won ($26.5 million) from 28 billion won a year earlier, while revenue rose 6.8 percent to 2.04 trillion won. Net profit more than tripled to 3.58 billion won, according to preliminary earnings figures.
DT Networks, the subsidiary handling BYD sales in Korea, emerged as a key growth driver, posting 240.6 billion won in revenue and 7.3 billion won in operating profit. The unit maintained its momentum after turning profitable in the first half.
Deutsch Motors, an authorized BMW and MINI dealer, attributed the earnings improvement to its broader brand portfolio, expanded BYD lineup and more established sales network. Its existing imported-car dealerships also helped sustain profitability despite intensifying competition.
Separately, the board approved the cancellation of all 1,030,223 corporate treasury shares, valued at approximately 5 billion won, as part of a shareholder return initiative announced in its Oct. 20 corporate value-up plan.
"We will work to establish a stable and sustainable business structure by the end of this year and focus on securing profitability," said Deutsch Motors CEO Kwon Hyeok-min, pledging continued efforts to enhance shareholder value.
